Fiji is working closely with the Australian Government to evacuate Fijians from New Caledonia amidst ongoing civil unrest.
The unrest which began almost a week ago has resulted in the arrest of about 230 people and left six dead.
In Parliament this morning, Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Sitiveni Rabuka said under the Vuvale Partnership, Fiji and Australia were working very closely in evacuating Fijians in New Caledonia.
