Publicly-listed Vision Investments Limited (VIL) has entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Oceania Institute of Technology (OIT) to advance its strategic workforce development priorities.

The agreement, signed on September 4 this year, aims to strengthen industry-focused training and employment pathways across VIL’s retail and business operations.

Under the arrangement, OIT will serve as a key education and training provider, delivering programs tailored to the workforce needs of VIL and its subsidiary companies.

VIL chief executive officer Niraj Bhartu said the partnership formed part of the company’s strategic objective to invest in its people, strengthen organisational capability, and build a skilled workforce to support the company’s continued growth and evolving customer needs.

“Our people are central to the success of Vision Investments Limited,” Mr Bhartu said in the company’s market announcement to the South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPX) where it is listed.

“This partnership is a practical step in delivering our strategic objective to develop capable leaders, strengthen technical and customer-service skills, and create clear pathways for emerging talent across our businesses,” he added.

The initiative is designed to provide VIL employees with access to targeted training and qualifications.

It will also establish pathways for students and young people to transition from education into potential employment opportunities across VIL’s operations.

The partnership supports VIL’s objective of building a sustainable, future-ready

workforce aligned with the operational priorities and growth plans of VIL and its

subsidiary companies.

The MoU was signed by Mr Bhartu and OIT Group chief executive officer and managing director Dr Hasmukh Lal.
