Parliament week begins tomorrow

Parliament will convene from tomorrow with a packed agenda that includes the tabling of major national reports, ministerial updates, and questions on critical issues ranging from healthcare costs to infrastructure delivery.

Proceedings will start with the presentation of annual reports and financial statements from key institutions, including the Consumer Council of Fiji, Fiji Development Bank, and multiple government ministries responsible for infrastructure, transport, and meteorological services.

Members of Parliament will ask questions.

One major question will be asked by Ratu Rakuita Vakalalabure – the Minister for Information, Environment and Climate Change Lynda Tabuya is to provide an update on the status of the proposed Waste-to-Energy project at Vuda Point.

Questions will also focus on national development priorities such as climate resilience projects, enforcement of traffic laws, and the progress of Fiji’s National Security Strategy.

In addition, debates are scheduled on several review reports, including those relating to the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee and municipal council annual reports.
