THE Paradise 7s tournament kicks off today at Churchill Park in Lautoka, showcasing young female rugby talent in the U14 and U16 divisions.

This year, the competition focuses on the U14 and U16 girls’ categories, offering young athletes the chance to test their skills against some of the best from overseas.

Teams from New Zealand, Australia, and the United Kingdom will join Fiji’s youth in what promises to be a thrilling showcase of talent, passion, and determination.

More than just a tournament, Paradise 7s is built on a vision of creating an inclusive and empowering platform for female athletes.

It aims to inspire young players, celebrate the growth of women’s rugby, and build strong international connections.

Pacific Island Rugby (PIR) provides dynamic platforms across the Pacific region, connecting communities and teams through sport.

In the last four years PIR has delivered 20 events, 15 education and well-being programmes with 4000 participants.

The visiting teams New Zealand, Australia and UK visited few schools in Lautoka yesterday as part of their programme.
