The eTransport card is something new to our shores, but why is it that many are overly reacting and impatient? It takes time for Fijians to get used to it similar to when I can remember about five years ago when our banks started introducing the ATM cards.
People started asking questions about the new ATM cards system as they could not grasp and understand how it works, the banks were always chock a block almost every day with people rushing to get hold of their new bank cards in doing away with the old paper bank books, but now every Fijian has come to fully appreciate its convenience and value.
Please, let’s give the eTransport card some breathing space so it can see the light of day as I am very certain after some months we will begin to fully appreciate why it was introduced.
It is for the better to all those travelling public who commute on public transport every day, but can’t wait to see it being introduced on taxis and mini-vans. Please do not ridicule this new mode of paying for travel.
