The 2025 Suva Open Tennis Championship is set to welcome over a hundred tennis players from Fiji and the Pacific region.
This prestigious competition, which was officially launched yesterday, will see the continued sponsorship of Vodafone Fiji for a third consecutive year.
Vice-president of Suva Tennis, Daniel Naidu, expressed his gratitude for Vodafone’s ongoing support, marking the third year of their major sponsorship of Suva’s flagship tennis tournament.
“The Vodafone Suva Open in its current iteration began in 2022. Since it began it has grown every year, with last year being the biggest edition so far, with 126 entries,” said Naidu.
“The Vodafone Suva Open attracts Fiji’s top players, and also leading players from around the Pacific, which leads to extremely high-level matchups in the open grades each year.”
He adds the dedication of the Suva Tennis Association committee has been instrumental in expanding the reach of tennis in Suva, yielding impressive results and fostering exciting talent for the future of the sport in Fiji.
“Vodafone’s support is allowing us to take these players to new heights. we in 2024 we were able to send 8 top juniors to Australia to participate in two tournaments.
“I want to say a special thank you to the committee members of Suva Tennis, our hardworking coaches, and to Vodafone for your support for their work in developing this sport that we all love.”
