OPM confirms fatal accident involving ministerial vehicle, offers condolences

The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) has extended its deepest condolences to the families of those affected by a “tragic” accident that involved a government vehicle.

The vehicle was issued to the Assistant Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Sakiusa Tubuna.

It is alleged the driver assigned to Mr Tubuna had parked the vehicle at his house when his 17-year-old son took it to shop.

He is alleged to have bumped two individuals along Bau road who passed away.

“The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) confirms that one of its official vehicles was involved in an accident that claimed the lives of two men outside Nausori on Sunday, 15 June 2025,” said the OPM.

“The OPM has offered its full cooperation as police investigation into the accident have begun.”
