The Housing Authority did not show what impact an audit on lot allotment had on its financial statement in 2020.
This, according to the Office of the Auditor-General in its 2019-2020 audit report on Public Enterprises and Other Entities tabled in Parliament last month.
The Housing Authority board chair had requested the Auditor-General on July 15, 2020 to conduct a Special Purpose Audit (special investigation) on lots allotment and awarding of tenders for the various subdivisions from January 1, 2010 to July 2020.
“The outcome of the investigation has been reported to the chairperson of the board on 30 September 2020,” the OAG report stated.
“The impact on the financial statements from the findings of the investigations based on the terms of reference have not been determined by the authority nor provide a disclosure on the impact for the year then ended.
“As a result, the audit was unable to determine whether any adjustments might have been necessary in respect of the authority’s financial statements that make up the statements of financial position, movement in funds and cashflows.”
The Housing Authority stated after receiving the special investigation report, action plans had been prepared to implement the recommendations made in the report.
