The New Zealand Gujarati Sports and Cultural Association (NZGSCA) marked a major milestone with its 35th Anniversary Celebrations and Grand Awards Night on Saturday, June 14.

The event was a vibrant evening of celebration, honouring achievements in sport, culture, and community service.

As one of the largest and most active community organisations in New Zealand, NZGSCA continues to engage record numbers within the Gujarati community through its wide-ranging sports, cultural, and charitable initiatives.

A major highlight of the night was the presence of the legendary Sevens rugby icon, Waisale Serevi, as Chief Guest.

\His heartfelt message on hope, resilience, and unity left a lasting impression on all in attendance.

“I was blown away by Serevi’s popularity and how his message resonated with the entire audience,” said NZGSCA President Ritesh Raniga.

The event also honoured winners of the association’s sports competitions held throughout the year, while paying special tribute to individuals who have contributed to NZGSCA’s growth since its early years.

Adding glamour to the evening was the Roop Darshan-sponsored fashion show, which drew enthusiastic applause.

The night also featured a charity auction, which raised over $14,000 in support of Hato Hone St John and St John Fiji, reflecting the association’s strong community spirit.
