Nuku Secondary students receive awards

EIGHT students from Nuku Secondary School situated on the Serua-Namosi border this morning were awarded The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

Speaking at the event Permanent Secretary for Youths and Sports Maretino Nemani encouraged students to take up the programme in order to uplift their skills.

So far, he said Ratu Kadavulevu School, Adi Cakobau School, Saint Vincent College, Naiyala High School, Wainibuka Secondary School and Navesau Adventist College have received their certificates under the bronze medals category.

“We encourage participants to take part on this balanced program of activities since it will develop the person holistically, mind, body and soul,” Mr Nemani said.

“Also we encourage teachers should they be transferred next year to any other school in the Central Division for them to take up DEIA as an extracurricular activity in school.”
