Navua FC has created a big upset in the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship’s Super Premier competition, after they defeated favourites Rewa FC by 2-1 in the second semi-final a while ago at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
Navua came back from behind to beat Rewa as they were trailing by one-nil at half-time through a goal by the Delta Tigers player Samuela Kautoga.
In the second spell, Navua bounced back in style as goals from Simione Damuni and Kolinio Sivoki sealed the match for them.
Navua coach Saiyad Ali said his side is proving to be the most consistent team in the country.
“Navua deserves to be in the final after so much of hard work and dedication.
“We missed the penalty and we were a goal down but we kept on fighting for a win,” added Ali.
Navua will now play Labasa in the Super Premier final tomorrow at 3pm.
