The NeXTGEN Alliance Party (NGAP) has officially been registered as a political party, increasing the number of registered political parties in Fiji to nine.
In a statement, the Registrar of Political Parties, Ana Mataiciwa confirmed that NGAP had met all legal requirements for registration under the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures) Act 2013.
She said the party will now be required to comply with all statutory obligations applicable to registered political parties, including the submission of declarations and disclosures within the prescribed timelines.
Mataiciwa also revealed that no objections were received during the application process.
“Following the completion of the application process and with no objections received against the application for registration, the approval of NGAP’s registration brings the total number of registered political parties in Fiji to nine,” she said.
The registration marks the latest addition to Fiji’s political landscape ahead of the next general election.
