A new winner will be crowned at the 2023 FMF Malomalo 7s today after defending champion Red Wing failed to register for the two-day tournament in progress at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
Meanwhile, in a Pool G fixture yesterday, Warden Green defeated Davetalevu by 22-5 after having lost their opening match to DXC Barbarians.
“We still need to work on our defence and set-piece play,” said Warden Green coach Mitieli Tokalau.
He said the team would focus on the positives and identify the weak points before their final pool match against Malomalo Sharks.
“Davetalevu is a good team and we acknowledge the boys for not losing their confidence and belief in themselves despite our loss in the first game.”
