Nukudamu villagers in Udu, Macuata, now have a newly commissioned ecological water purification system aimed at improving access to safe drinking water.
Rural and Maritime Development Minister Mosese Bulitavu said the system would ensure reliable access to clean water for households that traditionally depended on rainwater harvesting and other natural sources.
“This will provide clean and safe drinking water for the community,” he said.
Mr Bulitavu said at least 30 households in the village would directly benefit from the system.
“We remain committed to delivering basic services to rural communities, especially those facing long-standing infrastructure challenges.”
He said similar projects would continue to be rolled out in other rural and maritime areas across the country as part of government’s development priorities.
