FIJI Water Foundation is giving $500,000 towards the construction of a multi-purpose hall and classrooms at Draunivi Public School and Vatukaloko Secondary School in Rakiraki.

$200,000 is for a multipurpose hall at Draunivi Public School and a $272,600 is for a laboratory and classroom block at Vatukaloko Secondary School.

“These projects will benefit not only these schools but also five villages and twelve settlements, serving nearly 2,800 people,” said Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro.

He said the new multipurpose hall will host events, PE classes, community gatherings, and act as an emergency shelter during disasters.

Vatukaloko will benefit from new classrooms and a science lab to reduce overcrowding and support academic growth.

He thanked FIJI Water Foundation which has been supporting both schools since 2018.

“These projects are about more than just buildings; they are investments in our children’s future.”
