New political party NextGen has emerged as the most preferred party among decided voters in the Eastern Division, according to the latest national electoral opinion survey.
The Centre for Democracy and Dialogue’s (CDD) Wave 1 Fiji National Electoral Opinion Survey, conducted between September and October 2026, shows NextGen recording 31.3 per cent support among decided respondents in the Eastern Division.
The People’s Alliance Party (PAP) followed at 22.1 per cent, while SODELPA registered 15.7 per cent.
People First recorded 9.5 per cent, followed by Unity Fiji and the National Federation Party (NFP), both at 6.2 per cent.
Kingdom Unite registered 5.3 per cent.
The findings were based on 96 decided respondents in the Eastern Division.
The result stands out because the People’s Alliance Party recorded the highest share of preferences among decided respondents in the other three divisions.
In the Central Division, PAP registered 30.9 per cent, followed by Unity Fiji at 14.3 per cent and SODELPA at 12.4 per cent.
In the Western Division, PAP recorded 22.6 per cent, followed by the NFP at 14.3 per cent, Unity Fiji at 13.9 per cent and SODELPA at 13.6 per cent.
The Northern Division recorded 32.9 per cent for PAP, followed by Unity Fiji at 12.8 per cent and SODELPA at 12.7 per cent.
The survey therefore identifies the Eastern Division as a notable area of support for NextGen among respondents who have expressed a party preference.
However, the Eastern Division figures are based on a relatively small sample of 96 decided respondents and should be interpreted with caution.
The percentages represent weighted shares of decided respondents within each division, excluding those who had not expressed a party preference.
The findings reflect party preferences at the time of the survey and do not constitute a prediction of election results.
