Yesterday marked a significant day for the Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma as they had the installation of four new office bearers.
They have been in office since the beginning of this year, but the formalities of installations were done at the Centenary Methodist Church in Suva.
The four bearers were selected from the annual conference of the Methodist Church and will serve their term for the next three to five years.
Reverend Savenaca Vuetanavanua will be the new head of school at the Davuilevu Theological College, Deaconess Verenaisi Toga will be the new head administrator of the deaconess order, Kitione Radroro will be the new secretary for the men’s fellowship, and Manasa Wesley Vatanitawake will be the new secretary for communication and overseas missions.
Speaking to this newspaper, Reverend Dr Jolame Lasawa, highlighted that these individuals were trusted by the congregation to perform their respective duties. He believes they will perform to the best of their abilities.
He also commended the new president for inducting the new office bearers.
“It is the beginning of the service for our president, so it was a significant day as he performed his first role,” he said.
