Nadi Futsal has been given a major boost in preparation for the 2024 season with the opening of the Fiji Muslim League Nadi Muslim College Multipurpose Court that includes a new futsal turf.

Nadi Futsal team director Manoj Kumar acknowledged the Fiji Muslim Sports Association (FMSA) for this great initiative.

“I am very glad and thank them for making a new futsal turf in Nadi as we did not have one previously,” he said.

Kumar added with the new futsal facility, they would now have better chances of winning national futsal events.

“We fell short in the 2023 Extra Supermarket Futsal IDC after losing to Suva 6-2 in the final, but I am confident that with this new facility, we will be much better prepared for next season,” said Kumar.

FMSA president Javed Ahmed said the court was not merely a space for sports and physical activities, but it was platform for fostering teamwork, discipline, resilience and sportsmanship.

“The court symbolises the spirit of unity and community that defines the school where diversity is celebrated and everyone regardless of background or ability and age is encouraged to participate.

“I also acknowledge all those who have played a role in making this project a reality including the dedicated school board, the tireless efforts of the administrative staff and the generosity of the turf sponsor- Empire Autoparts.

Nadi Muslim College school manager Hafiz Khan said the foundation of a well-rounded education extends beyond the confines of the classroom and involves nurturing not only the intellectual but also the physical, emotional and social aspects of the students.

The Multipurpose Court is now open for bookings for futsal and will also be available for netball from next week.
