A new eatery has opened in Martintar, Nadi giving the people of jet-set town more options to choose from authentic Indian cuisines and has provided employment to 23 people including 15 locals.
Swagat Wine and Dine Indian Authentic Restaurant specialises in North Indian cuisines from India according to restaurant manager Sanjesh Chand.
“This is our second restaurant. We have another eatery operating under the same name in the Capital City,” he said.
Mr Chand said the eatery, which opened on Monday, had also hired eight expatriate chefs from India.
“So far, we have invested around $80,000 into the restaurant.” He said the response from the public had been overwhelming.
“We had house-full on our opening day and the response has been fantastic.
“We have around 230 items on our menu which you would not find in any of the restaurants.
“Our main focus is the quality of the food that we offer to our customers also keeping in mind the environment and vibe created for our patrons.”
Mr Chand said competition from other restaurants specialising in Indian food had been good as well, however, they were ready to serve the people of Nadi.
“We are new to the market in Nadi but we are not new to the business.”
