Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Atonio Lalabalavu has formed a committee which will address the noticeable rise in health issues affecting both young individuals and senior citizens.
A Ministry of Health statement said the Dr Lalabalavu has a genuine passion for improving public health and ensuring that everyone in our community has access to the care they need.
Permanent Secretary for Justice, Selina Kuruleca in the co-chair of the committee.
“The committee consists of individuals from various government ministries and departments—such as health, education, and social services—working together to create a more inclusive approach,” said the Ministry.
“Representatives from non-governmental organizations and faith-based groups bring essential grassroots perspectives, helping bridge the gap between the community and the services available.”
“They are determined to create educational programs, prevention measures, and easier access to services—all designed to enhance community well-being.”
