New chair and board members

Forensic accountant and academic Dr Ilimotama Cawi has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Real Estate Agents Licensing Board (REALB), including three board members.

In a media release yesterday the board said Dr Cawi will be assisted by deputy chairperson Caroline Waqabaca with King Anwar Hussain and Unise Druavesi.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Co-operatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communications, Manoa Kamikamica announced the appointments signaling a strategic move towards a dynamic future for the real estate industry.

An economist by profession, Mrs Waqabaca heads the Financial System Development team at the Reserve Bank of Fiji and has been a valued member of the Board since 2019.

Mr Hussain is a successful businessman, land developer and the CEO of Jet Set Land and Property Developer in Nadi.

A senior economist with the Ministry of Trade, Mrs Druavesi has been a dedicated member of the board since 2019 offering profound expertise to the Board.

The new board members officially assumed their new roles on Monday, August 21, 2023, marking the commencement of their three-year term.
