The Nadi and Nadroga rugby unions played friendly matches in the under-20, development and the senior grades at Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday.

In the first game, the Nadi U20 side defeated a spirited Stallions side 14-7.

Nadi ran in a try in each half through Luke Nasau and Waisea Toga while the lone try for Nadroga came from Jolame Navara.

“We made some errors. We need to improve,” said Nadi U20 manager Niumaia Kuboutawa.

He said the boys were told at halftime to be consistent with their performance in order to get the victory.

“We hope to continue like this for the rest of the season.”

Nadroga U20 manager Emmanuel Fumanu said it was a good opportunity to test out the boys.

“There is a lot of areas to improve on. Nadi gave us a good game.”

He said any match between Nadi and Nadroga was always tough.

“We will go back to the drawing board and work on our mistakes and before the season kicks off, we should he ready,” said Fumanu.
