Datec Fiji believes that its customers are in different stages of digital transformation adoption and they needed to accelerate the transformation to foster innovation and continuous growth.

Speaking at the opening of the Datec Fiji Tech Summit at the InterContinental Resort in Natadola, Datec Fiji chief executive officer Satyen Singh said Fiji and the South Pacific were witnessing an increase in the adoption of software-defined IT infrastructure, application eco-system, hybrid work, and cyber-security acceleration.

“We know that technology continues to be the primary catalyst for change in the world and therefore we wanted to bring the technology players who are making innovation happen closer to our clients.

“The pandemic allowed us to challenge ourselves and to expand our creativity and in turn required us to be more innovative in how we work. We needed to work smarter and faster, becoming more accessible to each other despite being miles apart. And I believe that for many we achieved just that. The challenges of COVID did not deter us from staying connected,” he said.

Mr Singh said the summit gave an opportunity to participants to get their hands on the latest technologies with 25 of the global tech giants and global changemakers from around the world.

“We have the world’s largest technology companies in a single platform to interact and network and we urge you all to make the most of it.”

He said the world would move into an era of ubiquitous computing and ambient intelligence in the next 10 years and experience higher levels of digitalization than in the past 40 years.

“Our customers are in different stages of digital transformation adoption and collectively we need to accelerate the transformation to foster innovation and continuous growth,” he said.
