The National Employment Centre (NEC) client registration under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) program and the New Zealand Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) Work Scheme will be temporarily suspended for seven months.

The Ministry of Employment issued the advisory yesterday saying the temporary suspension of registrations would begin from January 1, 2024, to July 31, 2024.

It stated that during this period, the centre would facilitate the updating of backlog manual registration, including sorting and cleansing, as well as the transfer of manual registration into the In-Country Recruitment Database (IRD).

It stated that would improve and enhance the efficiency of NEC services.

The ministry said it was working towards providing effective and efficient service delivery to its registered clients and all Fijians that participated under the labour mobility programs.
