Navua under-19 captain Reeshab Permal played a starring role in his team’s thrilling 2-1 victory over Rewa U19 in the Digicel Fiji U19 Youth League 2024 at the Fiji FA Academy Ground, Vatuwaqa, Suva yesterday.
The match started with an early shock for Navua as Rewa’s Ratu Apenisa found the back of the net in the second minute, putting his side ahead.
However, Permal quickly took charge and demonstrated leadership, scoring two crucial goals from the penalty spot to turn the game around.
Permal’s first goal came in the 25th minute, when Navua attacker Shofwan Ali was fouled inside the Rewa box.
Permal’s second, a coolly converted penalty in the 60th minute, proved to be the match-winner, securing all three points for his side.
In other matches played yesterday, leaders Nasinu hammered Suva 3-nil while Tailevu Naitasiri edged Northland Tailevu 2-1.
