AFTER helping Rewa reach the BiC Fiji FACT final last year, Navua coach Rodicks Singh is determined to take the next step in 2026 with the ‘Red Brigade’.

Having made the switch to the Southerners during the mid-season transfer window, he is embracing a fresh challenge and believes Navua has the quality to mount a serious challenge at the Fiji FACT when it kicks off this week.

The experienced coach understands the demands of tournament football, having featured prominently in Rewa’s run to last year’s final.

While the Delta Tigers fell short of lifting the trophy, it only strengthened Singh’s desire to achieve success in this football season.

Having joined Navua for this year’s tournament, Singh is eager to use his experience to help guide the club to glory.

“I want to do one better for Navua,” Singh said.

“This is my new club, and I am focused on giving them my best and helping them be their best.”

Navua faces a daunting challenge in Pool A, grouped with Rewa, defending champions Labasa and Suva in what is widely regarded as the tournament’s toughest group.

With all four possessing the quality and experience to challenge for honours, the pool is expected to produce some of the tournament’s most competitive matches.

Singh believes Navua has prepared well for the tournament.

The team has spent the past few weeks focusing on strengthening combinations and refining key areas of its game.

Singh said preparations have centered on ensuring the squad is mentally and physically ready.

Navua will navigate a difficult pool and build momentum towards the semi-finals and final, which will be played the following weekend.

For Singh, it’s an opportunity to help write a new chapter in his career while contributing to Navua’s ambitions on the national stage.

“We are setting our eyes on the title, and I believe they have what it takes to win.”

The 2026 BiC Fiji FACT kicks off this Friday at Subrail Park in Labasa.

The group matches run from Friday until this Sunday, semi-final on June 27 and the grand final on June 28.
