Navosa made a powerful start to their Royal Tea Ranadi Cup campaign with a dominant 69-12 victory over Ovalau at Buckhurst Park yesterday.
Navosa took control from the opening stages, using the strength of their forwards to create a solid platform before their backs capitalised with quick and expansive rugby to break down the Ovalau defence.
The emphatic result provides Navosa with an ideal start to the 2026 competition and places them among the early contenders as they target a place in the ANZ Marama Championship.
Navosa coach Levani Naseu praised his players for their performance but said the team remains focused on improving as the competition progresses.
“First of all, I would like to thank the Lord for the performance. The girls played well, but we know there are still areas we need to work on,” Nasau said.
He said the team would return to camp to review the match, identify weaknesses and continue preparing for the challenges ahead.
“We will go back to camp and discuss our weaknesses and the areas we need to sharpen as we prepare for the next game.”
Naseu also called on the Navosa community and supporters to continue backing the team throughout the campaign.
Results for round one: Yasawa 61-0 Vatukoula, Northland 47-42, Serua 25-22 Malolo, Taveuni won by default over Bua, Northern Bulls won by default over Coastland.
