Celebrations erupted at the Navala Catholic Primary School U14 girls’ camp as they upset the favourites, Namosau Methodist Primary School, with a decisive 20-5 victory in the U14 girls’ 7s final at the Ba Primary School Rugby finals held at AD Patel School ground last week.
Navala made a strong statement early in the match, scoring two unanswered tries within the first 10 minutes, showcasing their attacking prowess and impenetrable defense, leading 10-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Navala continued to dominate possession, adding two more tries, while Namosau Methodist School managed to cross the try line only once.
Navala sealed their victory with a final score of 20-5.
Navala coach Seresio Nabuli said their main message was teamwork and they came in this year to win after finishing runners up last year.
“I just reminded the girls to work as a team and play their hearts out.
“We came this year to win,” Nabuli said.
