Fiji Airways has resumed its flights to Christmas Island in Kiribati that were suspended at the height of COVID-19 pandemic.

Cassidy International airport facility and airline compliance checks and clearance were done by the Civil Aviation Authority of Kiribati and Fiji Airways before the first flight in three years.

“This flight is significant because it marks our return to 100 per cent of pre-COVID destinations,” said Fiji Airways CEO Andre Viljoen.

“In that time we have also added two new markets – Vancouver and Canberra.”

Cassidy International airport will receive flights from Fiji and Hawaii on a weekly basis.
