National airline commends Rosie Holidays on five-year plan

FIJI Airways managing director and CEO Stefan Pichler says the move by Rosie Holidays was in-line with the national carrier’s five-year strategic action plan.

“There’s growing interest for charters and we have a new charter business set-up within our Sales and Marketing Department.

“So this is an excellent business opportunity which also offers us a chance to test a potential market, as we continue to explore a new route in Asia from 2016,” he said.

Tourism Fiji Acting CEO, Ken Freer also commended Rosie Holidays on the initiative.

“This service will help create new interest and additional visitor revenue for Fiji when it is much needed and we are working very closely with Rosie Holidays and China Tour Wholesalers to support this Shanghai charter and the scheduled Hong Kong services,” he said.

Speaking at a launch event for the new service in Shanghai earlier this week, deputy Ambassador and Consul General for Fiji in Shanghai, Mohammed Mukhtar Khan congratulated Rosie Holidays for taking the initiative.

“With the President of China, Mr Xi Jinping, visiting Fiji this week and our national carrier flying into mainland China, it is indeed a proud day for the country.”
