The champion of the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union’s Raluve Championship under-18 grade, Natabua High School, will go big on girls’ rugby from next year.
NHS proved to be the surprise package in the competition, upsetting favourites Jasper Williams High School 10-5 in the final at Churchill Park in Lautoka last Saturday.
The side defeated St Bedes College from Savusavu 12-7 in the semi-finals in Nadi a week earlier to secure their spot in the final.
NHS principal Virendra Sharma said it showed that the rugby talents of their girls had been hidden for a long time.
“Next year we will go big on girl’s rugby. I can confirm right now that our team will be stronger,” he said.
