Nasinu netball sees rise in level of competition

The level of competition is on the rise within the Nasinu Netball Association, as evident from their round one club competition held at the multi-purpose court in Suva yesterday.

Association president Mere Rauluni shared her observations, noting that the competition this year has become tougher, with a noticeable improvement in the level of play.

She expressed excitement about the participation of the teams in this year’s competition.

“This year the competition is getting more tough, we can see the level of play is getting more better, and we are excited to have the teams on board this year.” said Rauluni.

She adds round one of the tournaments saw an impressive turnout, showcasing the growing interest in the sport among players.

“The association has a total of 12 clubs and 36 teams, spanning various age categories such as the roses grade for 6-9-year-olds, the princess grade for 10-13-year-olds, and senior grades for those aged 14-17 years.

We also have a new Masters grade has been introduced this year for players aged 40 and above.”

The primary goal of the Nasinu Netball Association is to enhance their resources and develop their players, particularly focusing on the youth and children, with the aspiration of seeing them don the Fiji Pearls jersey and represent their country in the future.

Rauluni expressed her gratitude towards the committee, umpires, teams, and supporters for their hard work and dedication to the Nasinu Netball Association.
