Nasinu rugby team secured a decisive victory against the Draunivau Sharks with a score of 24-3 in the Suva Rugby Union Escott Shield round 8 at Bidesi Park in Suva yesterday.
The team’s commitment to their game plan proved to be the key to their success in the match.
According to team manager Sakiusa Tuimavana, the players performed admirably and displayed great teamwork throughout the game.
The boys’ dedication to training sessions was evident in their strong performance on the field.
“The boys did well in their match, preparations were well, they boys turned up every day for training, so that what keep this team together,” said Tuimavana.
Tuimavana expressed his gratitude for the team’s unity and commitment, particularly on a holiday.
“It is also great to see that all our team members turned out, as we know it’s a holiday, so of the youths will be enjoying elsewhere but our boys stuck to their promise and I’m so greatful.”
The first half saw Nasinu dominating the game, and they maintained their momentum in the second half by sticking to their game plan and focusing on their defensive strategies.
Tuimavana emphasised the importance of following through on their set pieces and lineout plays in their upcoming match against the Naqarani team.
“During second half my message was to stick to our game plan, and push to through our defense.
“The Draunivau team was a great team, but we trained extra hard for this win.”
He adds the team is now focused on fine-tuning their skills in preparation for the remaining matches in the Suva Rugby Union competition.
Tuimavana extended his appreciation to the players for their efforts and to the supporters who cheered them on during the game.
