TEAM Boxing Brave head coach Osea Nanovu is approaching this weekend’s Bluewater Boxing Promotion with confidence as he prepares his three fighters through intense preparations focused on stamina, discipline and mental toughness.
“We are looking forward to this weekend because the boys have worked hard and this is their chance to show what they can do,” Nanovu said.
Team Boxing Brave Club’s leading fighter, Sainivalati Ratu, who will headline Bluewater Boxing Promotion this weekend, is ready to face former Fiji heavyweight champion James Singh in the main bout and is approaching the contest with confidence and discipline.
Alongside Sainivalati, fighters Mikaele Ravalaca and Filise Nabua are also preparing for crucial bouts at this tournament.
Ravalaca, the holder of two titles including the Oceania WBA title, will take on Kaliova Tahika in the main supporting bout.
Meanwhile, Filise Nabua is also expected to feature strongly on the card, with Nanovu saying the boxer has been training hard and remains fully focused on securing a victory.
“Filise said he will win,” Nanovu said.
“He is preparing well and is staying focused for the fight.”
Nanovu believes mental strength is the key to success inside the ring.
“I focus more on the mental side,” he explained.
“If you are mentally strong, you can push your body to the limit. But if you are weak mentally, your mind gives up under pressure.”
Heading into this weekend’s event, Nanovu expressed full confidence in his fighters.
“For me, it is positive. They will definitely do well,” Nanovu expressed.
Fans can look forward to the clash this Friday and Saturday at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka as action starts from 4pm, with gates opening at 3pm.
