Villagers of Nakabuta are still in the dark about the state of landslides that have been affecting them since last year.
As a result of this continuing erosion, it has affected their main source of income — the sea.
They say the foundations of their community church and hall have been covered with sediments.
Assistant Minister for Waterways Tomasi Tunabuna said he would not make a statement yet as teams on the ground were still gathering information.
“The information gathered will give us a proper picture of what’s really going on,” he said.
Mr Tunabuna said the ministry would need to conduct further consultations with relevant stakeholders after more information had been gathered.
