Saracens, a renowned English Premiership club, recently announced the signing of Fijian prop Vilikesa Nairau from Championship club Coventry.
The 22-year-old, who has represented Fiji at the under-20 level, joins Saracens on an undisclosed contract, marking his first professional rugby deal.
Nairau, who began his rugby journey with Suva in Fiji before moving to England to play for Coventry last year, expressed his gratitude and excitement about joining Saracens.
Speaking to the club’s website he thanked the coaches and management for trusting him to be part of the Saracens family. Nairau is eager to stand alongside his new teammates and give his best on the field.
“I would like to thank the almighty God for the blessings that he has given me and of course the coaches and the management for putting their trust in me to come and join the family,” said Nairau.
“It’s my first professional rugby contract and I’m ready to stand alongside the boys and fight along with them.”
Currently, Saracens sit in fifth place in the Premiership, tied on points with fourth-placed Sale Sharks, with two games left in the regular season.
The addition of loosehead prop Nairau will undoubtedly bolster the team’s forward pack for the upcoming season.
Nairau will link up with the Saracens squad before the start of the next season, ready to contribute to the team’s success.
