Nadroga team faces wrath of mighty Rewa

The Rewa women’s football team thrashed Nadroga 4-0 in their first pool match of the Vodafone Women’s Inter District Championship at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.

Rewa team manager Roderick Singh said they wanted to start on a high note and he was happy with how her players responded on the field.

“The first game is always the toughest and I told the girls that we need to win our first match in order to keep the momentum and boost them in their next game,” said Singh.

“They just had to play it simple and play according to what we have learned in training because we are vying for the title this year.”

Rewa registered its first win in the 2020 Vodafone Women’s IDC beating Lomawai Kava Supplies Nadroga 4-0 in their opening match as they look forward to their next game.

“Nasinu is a tough team and they will come out firing tomorrow (today), so we just need to iron out some of our weaknesses from our last game.”

Rewa’s Timaima Vuniyayawa scored two goals while Lora Bukalidi and Ilisapeci Korosinu scored a goal each for Rewa to start their IDC campaign on a winning note.

Rewa plays Nasinu today at midday, Ba meets Tailevu-Naitasiri at 2pm, Nadroga will face Suva at 4pm in the Group A fixture at the ANZ Stadium.

Nadi and Labasa will play in the last game at 6pm. |
