Nadi wins Muslim IDC title

Nadi successfully defended the Muslim IDC football title after defeating Ba 2-1 at Churchill Park yesterday.

The men in green demonstrated excellent game structure in the first half, dominating possession and disrupting Ba’s attacking play.

Nadi capitalised on their possession advantage, scoring both goals in the first half through Bir Khan and Shaheel Valentine to take a commanding 2-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Nadi appeared content to focus on their defensive game, regrouping eff ectively.

Ba managed to score their lone goal through Shaif Ali.

Winning Nadi coach Vikash Chand expressed pride in his players performance.

“We have done it two years in a row and I thank the boys for all the eff ort and all their hard work. It was not an easy team to prepare these young boys since they are from two diff erent areas in Nadi. The officials have done a great job,” Chand said.

Ba coach Moshin Begg said:

“We prepared well but we fell short in the end,” Begg said.

Ba’s Kamil Muslim College won the U17 grade defeating Nadi Muslim College in a penalty shootout 7-6.

West Masters won the Masters category beating Valelevu Masters in a penalty shootout 4-2.
