Nadi lawyer Dorsami Naidu is founder of new party, Fijian Democratic Party

Nadi based lawyer and former National Federation Party member of parliament, Dorsami Naidu has stated his the founder of the new proposed political party, Fijian Democratic Party.

He has released a statement under the proposed party’s name related to the drugs situation in Fiji.

Mr Naidu lists himself as Nadi lawyer, former TISI Sangam (Fiji) president, former Fiji Law Society president, current legal advisor TISI Sangam and founder of the proposed Fijian Democratic Party.

“We need to tackle the drug problem, which is like a pandemic now, by encouraging our parliamentarians to implement strict laws and the community to get involved in rehabilitation and treatment of people who are addicted through treatment, love and tolerance,” he said.

“Our party believes that bail should be refused to those charged with serious sexual offences , murder, manslaughter , violent assault or robbery , dealing in or being in possession of large amounts of Methamphetamine, cocaine and other hard drugs, and their trials fast tracked in court.”

“We need to ensure that they are not let out on bail and continue their drug dealing activities.”

“This is one way of reducing drug operations.”
