A 31-year-old farmer from Nadera is expected to appear at the Suva Magistrates Court today after being charged with multiple offences under the Online Safety Act and Crimes Act.
The accused has been charged with Causing Harm by Posting Electronic Communication under Section 24(a)(b)(c) of the Online Safety Act 2018.
He also faces a charge of Criminal Intimidation under Section 375(1)(b)(i)(ii)(iv) of the Crimes Act 2009.
A third charge is for Indecently Insulting or Annoying a Person under Section 213(1)(a) of the Crimes Act 2009.
The man committed the offences through his TikTok videos that went viral. He was seen assaulting a woman in one video and making offensive comments against a Cabinet Minister in another video.
The charges were approved by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
The man is currently in custody and is scheduled to be formally produced in court later today.
