Although gauging their students for the first time during the Nabua Secondary School inter-house meet, teachers were pleased to see the determination of their athletes.

“This has been our first official chance to see the capabilities of our student athletes, and also finally have them compete together,” said assistant head of PEMAC Soloila Muavono.

Muavono said a number of unforeseen problems affected their athletes such as no proper ground to prepare their students.

“With ground problems and a timeline to follow, we had provided our students with training programs to do on their own time.” “With our inter-house meet, we can see how each athlete is performing.”

Muavono said they were not putting any unwanted pressure on their students but maintained they enjoyed their events and performed to the best of their abilities.

“We want them enjoy themselves first and foremost and in all events they take part in do nothing but their best.”

Muavono said they were confident of putting together a strong squad before the Suva Zone Two meet.
