“We need this win.”

These are the words of Swire Shipping Fijian Drua skipper Tevita Ikanivere on their round 13 clash against the Queensland Reds the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva today.

The 24-year-old hooker emphasized on the importance of today’s match, which could determine whether the Drua book a spot in the quarter-finals.

“We know how important this game is a so do the boys, so we need this win,” he said.

The side underwent their captain’s run yesterday at the stadium, sharpening a few areas ahead of today’s clash.

“Our training session here today(yesterday) went well. We just sharpened a few areas, and the boys are ready to run out there.”

Coming from a tough 48-10 loss against the Western Force last weekend, Ikanivere says the boys are looking to right their wrongs when they run out today at 2.05pm.

“We know that wasn’t our best performance last weekend, and we want to give our fans the best of us tomorrow (today).”

He says their line-outs and set-pieces have been an area of development for the side, as they hope to execute their game plan to perfection.

“There’s no room for mistakes, this is it and we will be going all out.”

However, Ikanivere said they are expecting the Reds to come all out as well tomorrow, adding that fans can expect an exhilarating match at the stadium.

“You can expect a very physical battle tomorrow (today) because we know the Reds will want to maintain their fifth position and even move up to fourth place.”
