Mudaliar makes a name for himself in Australia

Amid Fiji’s bid to secure a spot in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Oceania qualifiers, goalkeepers can be a crucial position for any team management.

Oceaniafootballcenter.org reported a number of Fijian football players abroad might just have the Fiji Football Association selectors eyes pinned on them.

Players such as Fijian legend forward and wonderboy Roy Krishna, Scott Wara and Nicho Prasad in Europe and the countless in Australia and New Zealand.

One of the upcoming players is Ryan Mudaliar. Mudaliar, the report said, was a son of a Fijian couple and was born in Australia.

He is a 18-year-old and is the goalkeeper for the Brisbane Strikers in their under-20 side.

“He is also an option in the main squad as he is always called up for senior matches as a backup for starting keeper Brendan Wright,” the report read.

“The Strikers hold a partnership with Spanish top-tier club Leganes since February.

The Digicel Bula Boys will be part of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Oceania qualifiers from March 13-30 in Qatar and the squad will head into camp later this month.
