THE FIJI Tourism Exchange (FTE) 2025 has more buyers and more scheduled appointments.
This was highlighted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Viliame Gavoka while opening the FTE 2025 held at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resorton Denarau, Nadi.
“I am told we have about 4300 scheduled meetings this year,” he said.
“That really is a good measure because those appointments essentially translate into conversations, into awareness and hopefully, new opportunities for both our exhibitors and buyers. And these opportunities then mean a stronger Fiji tourism industry, new business, new jobs and the prosperity of our people.
“Some of you have come from as far as Belgium and India to our part of the Pacific.
“While marketing and promotion allows us to reach your corners of the world too — sometimes you need to experience what you will ultimately sell. It isn’t always easy selling a feeling, the Fijian warmth and hospitality. Which is why platforms like the Fiji Tourism Expo are so critical.”
He said this year, FTE also expanded its reach with the introduction of the Consumer Media Program, bringing global influencers and media into the conversation.
“This initiative amplifies Fiji’s tourism narrative, ensuring that our small businesses, cultural experiences, and sustainability efforts receive the visibility they deserve.
“For our MSMEs and grassroots operators, this is more than an event — it is an opportunity to connect with international markets, forge new partnerships, and showcase the authenticity of Fijian hospitality.”
The FTE 2025 ends today.
