Digital Financial Services M-PAiSA has extended its services for remittance in Samoa and Cooks Islands allowing users in Fiji to send money directly to M-Tala in Samoa and eMoni in the Cook Islands.
During the launch of the M-PAiSA new services Vodafone Fiji’s General Manager Shailendra Prasad said this strengthens regional connectivity and improving access to fast, secure and affordable cross boarder money transfer to other Pacific Island markets.
He said M-PAiSA first introduced its international remittance service with transfers from M-PAiSA to M-Vatu in Vanuatu and the addition of Samoa and Cooks Islands marks the next phase of DFS’s regional remittance network.
“These new corridors are expected to drive greater adoption of digital payments through improved service accessibility, reduced costs and a more secure and efficient service,” he said.
He said users can send money 24×7 directly from their mobile phones with funds delivered into the recipient’s mobile wallet in near real time.
He adds the service supports individuals’ families that rely on cross boarder payments across the Pacific.
He said the introduction of the new free in app statement feature enables users to independently download their transaction history directly to a verified email address, offering a comprehensive view of transaction history for up to six months.
“This feature gives our customers greater control and visibility over their finances. It is a simple and secure way for our users to stay informed and manage their finances more effectively without the need to visit a physical service outlet,” he said
He said this provides a vital record of income and expenditure which is particularly useful for customers applying for hire purchase or other financing needs.
To utilize the self- service statement, users must update their M-PAiSA app to the latest version on their Android Version 2.9.1 or Ios version 2.7.1 and register their email address.
