Ministry conducts meat and dalo inspections on Lakeba to ensure food safety and biosecurity

Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways are on Lakeba to carrying out meat and dalo inspection and treatment.

The Ministry said this was to ensure food safety and biosecurity.

Trained meat inspectors from the Animal Health and Production Division are conducting thorough assessments of meat products to confirm they are safe for human consumption.

Dalo inspections and treatments are underway at Narain Jetty for all those departing and Lakeba Jetty for those arriving.

The Ministry stated these inspections are to prevent the spread of pests, such as the taro beetle, and protect the quality of agricultural products entering the island.
