Minister for women speaks of a strengthened society

GOVERNMENT aims to build an independent society says Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Rosy Akbar.

“It is important that you as individuals play your part and the government will also assist you in ways that could further strengthen development in our society,” Minister Akbar said.

“We can all contribute in building a resilient economy.”

She made these comments while opening the new training centre for women in Samabula today.

Minister Akbar also highlighted Government’s effort in ensuring empowerment for women and children with the $56 million 2016-2017 budget allocation for the Ministry.
