The Biosecurity Authority of Fiji has noted “minimal movement” of the Asian Subterranean Termites out of the declared zones.

Acting CEO Surend Pratap said BAF took swift action on any movement of the pests outside the declared zones – Lautoka and Labasa.

“There are rarely sporadic occurrence of AST outside the declared areas, and if any are reported to BAF, then rapid control is effected immediately,” he said.

He urged all Fijians to be alert and aware of the advice provided by BAF.
