THE Tokatoka Sautorotoro of Korovuto Village is expanding its business operations, marking a new chapter in its efforts to create long-term economic opportunities for its members.
The landowning unit officially opened a new Nadi office for its business arm, Infinity Pacific Pte Ltd.
Officiating at the event was iTaukei Land Trust Board CEO Solomone Nata, who said the milestone demonstrated the commitment of Tokatoka Sautorotoro to move beyond relying solely on lease income and instead invest in sustainable business ventures.
“Tokatoka Sautorotoro stands as an example of what can be achieved when we shift our mindset from simply receiving lease funds to actively creating wealth and opportunities for our people,” he said.
Mr Nata congratulated the trustees and tokatoka members for their vision, determination and commitment to building a business that would provide direct benefits to their community.
He said the new office represented more than an expansion of the company’s physical presence.
“The opening of this office represents more than just a new building. It is a symbol of what can be achieved through strong leadership, collaboration and a shared commitment to creating a better future for our communities.”
The landowners acknowledged the support of the TLTB, particularly through its Taukei Development Fund Facility.
Through the facility, Infinity Pacific was able to access financing, with repayments secured through an assignment of 30 per cent of lease proceeds.
Mr Nata said the funding had helped the company strengthen and expand its operations since its incorporation in 2023.
The company began with two Ace vans, providing transportation transfers and tours before expanding into property development and other services to meet the growing demands of Fiji’s tourism industry.
Mr Nata said the company’s growth reflected the entrepreneurial spirit of the members of Tokatoka Sautorotoro.
“This achievement is a true testament to vision, discipline and the entrepreneurial spirit of the iTaukei people, particularly the members of Tokatoka Sautorotoro.”
He said the continued expansion of Infinity Pacific’s transport fleet would increase the company’s capacity, create more employment opportunities and strengthen its contribution to the tourism sector in Nadi.
The opening of the new office marks another step in Tokatoka Sautorotoro’s efforts to turn its land resources into sustainable economic opportunities for future generations.
