MAHATMA Gandhi Memorial High School (MGM) claimed the Fiji Secondary Schools Central Rally Under-19 netball title after defeating Kingdom Ambassador International Fellowship School 19-11 in the final yesterday.
MGM produced a composed performance to secure the nineteen-goal victory and book its place at the Fiji Secondary Schools National Netball Championships next month.
Captain Ateca Buli credited the team’s success to months of hard work and sacrifice.
“The girls have been working since the beginning of this year and they really deserved this win,” Buli said.
“They sacrificed so much, especially with the early morning trainings. We also thank our coaches and parents who have been behind us throughout the journey.”
Buli acknowledged Kingdom Ambassador International Fellowship School for providing a tough challenge in the final, saying both teams had earned their place in the decider.
She said the team was determined to make history by reclaiming the Central Rally Under-19 title for MGM.
“I’m very proud of my girls. We’ve been working so hard for this moment, and all the emotions before the game showed how much this meant to us,” she said.
